Nelson Muntz Field Day!
Ok, so guess who has been arrested, and charged with voter registration fraud - actual, documented, out-to-cause-harm-to-people voter registration fraud?
Why, a guy hired by the California Republican Party, who went around getting college students to sign "petitions", which were then fraudulently converted into requests to change their party registration to Republican. And, by the way, this same guy did the same thing in Florida in 2004.
At first I didn't understand why they would bother with this. But on reflection it does deny those people the right to vote in the primary of their choice, and it boosts the Republicans' sagging registration statistics, so doesn't look quite as much like everyone is abandoning ship.
But the law has finally caught up with this joker, so I give him a hearty Nelson Muntz "Ha, ha".
